Welcome To Hagley u3a
The village of Hagley is set between the following large towns: Halesowen, Bromsgrove, Kidderminster and Stourbridge, although all of these towns have their own U3A. Hagley U3A is a village based organisation, but we welcome members from all surrounding areas, typically Blakedown, Pedmore, Stourbridge etc. We are a small U3A by some standards but with small size comes the advantage of getting to know people easier. So do come to visit us at one of our main meetings where you will be warmly welcomed. Or if you would like a trial visit to one of our groups, please contact the Groups Co-ordinator.
The title U3A is meant to reflect that in our 'third age' we can still learn new things, the 'u' stands for 'university', a place of learning, and '3a' stands for 'third age'. However we would emphasise that in no way are we a group of academics, nor do we look for any qualifications amongst our members. We are a group of individuals from a wide range of backgrounds interested primarily in enjoying the social contact that our groups provide.
For the main meeting we meet monthly on the first Wednesday afternoon, except in August. The doors open at St Saviour's Church Hall at 1.45pm for a 2pm start. The atmosphere is welcoming and informal. There is a different speaker each month, and we cover a wide range of topics. Then it is time for a cup of tea and a chat. At the meeting you will be able to find out more information on our activities and visit the book stall.
We also have our own Facebook page which is open to everyone - do visit to check out what we've been up to of late!
