DATE AND FREQUENCY: Last Thursday of each month. Walks start around 10.30 a.m. and are of 2-2.5 hours duration (4-6 miles), normally followed by a pub lunch (occasionally a picnic).
DESCRIPTION: This is a new group, starting in April 2021, designed to allow new U3A members to join a walking group as other groups are full. A few members of the Thursday Raven's group will help to establish the new group. To start with at least, the walks will be the same as those walked by Raven's group 2-3 weeks earlier.
Leaders for each walk are volunteers from within the group. They choose a suitable walk, survey the route prior to the walk (carry out a risk assessment) and provide a description of the walk in terms of length and difficulty (terrain, stiles etc.) so that group members can ensure it is suitable for them. The walk leader is also responsible for ensuring there is adequate parking at the start of the route & making appropriate lunch arrangements.
